The great thing about the degree was that it was quite broad and you could take it into whatever pathway you wanted

What are you doing now?

I am working as a Quality Analyst for Due Diligence at Dow Jones' Barcelona office – I also occasionally partner with the innovation team in New York on projects.

What did you find most valuable about your course at Westminster? How did the skills you learnt during your degree help you to shape your career?

Team working, Research skills and public speaking. At the time, you think that having to do presentations and work in groups is a complete waste of time, but once you get into the real world, it is very unlikely that you will be working alone.

Why would you recommend Westminster as a place to study?

The multicultural environment means that in seminars, lectures and with classmates, you learn to accept different views and opinions and use them to form a much better and rounded judgement. The University of Westminster is so diverse and rich in culture in terms of its students and staff that it was definitely one of the things I enjoyed and appreciated the most.

What was the best thing about being a student in London?

Well, it’s London, one of the best cities in the world! What more can I say?

What extra-curricular activities did you participate in that enhanced your time at the University?

Most of my extra-curricular activities involved socialising with my friends and trying new restaurants and different types of food.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing a similar career?

The great thing about the degree was that it was quite broad and you could take it into whatever pathway you wanted, it also prepared me for work – how to organise my time, research and more importantly, how to deal with people.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

The opportunity to do a year abroad at the University of Bologna in Italy. This was a great opportunity, experience and achievement as by the end of it I could speak pretty good Italian, which helped me get a job at Dow Jones.
