Business Management BA – 2017

I studied with people from different cultures and in turn enriched my own. I didn't learn about other countries through books, I did through meeting those people and finding out what makes them tick. Keep an open mind and the world will open for you.

What are you doing now?

I am a rapper, producer, songwriter, and graphic designer from Hackney, London, based in Tokyo. I have been active as a musician since 2009. My main achievements to date include becoming the official songwriter for one of the biggest rappers in Japan, SEEDA, and an R&B/soul singer named Aki Ella. I have also been featured on five music blogs and many Spotify playlists.

What did you find most valuable about your course at Westminster?

I knew from age 13 that I wanted to live in Japan, and ever since, I planned my life to link A to B. Business Management allowed me to study abroad in Japan, and study Polylang alongside my main course. Those were my driving factors behind choosing this course.

Why would you recommend Westminster as a place to study?

The University of Westminster is one of the most diverse universities in the UK, and you will gain a pool of networks before you even graduate. UoW is great for this. I had connections in Japan, and within two weeks of graduating, I was living out here.

What was the best thing about being a student in London?

I studied with people from different cultures and in turn enriched my own. I didn't learn about other countries through books, I did through meeting those people and finding out what makes them tick. Keep an open mind and the world will open for you.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing a similar career to you?

If there's a country you want to live in, study the language and culture in depth before you go. They will respect you more if you make an effort to learn their culture. Business meetings will go smoother too. Make friends and be open-minded. There are people out there that think differently than you. Try to understand them before you quickly dismiss them. Also, the best advice I ever got was to say yes to more things.
