Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I attended an open day and found the atmosphere to be incredibly open and welcoming - I left feeling really excited about the course. I wanted a university that was easy to reach from my home in South London, and the Regent Street campus provided a convenient commute. Plus, being surrounded by museums and galleries made it the perfect location for my studies.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London has been amazing! The city has been hugely beneficial to my course, as seminars often take place in different museums, and I can base my projects and assessments around institutions I can easily visit. I love being in such a vibrant area - there's always something happening within walking distance of campus.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

The seminars are incredibly engaging, covering topics that are highly relevant to current issues in the museum sector. They always spark thought-provoking discussions, and the range of elective modules made it difficult to choose because there were so many interesting options! One of the highlights has been hearing from professionals working in different museum and gallery roles, giving us invaluable insight into the industry.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The lecturers have been fantastic - supportive, approachable, and always offering great advice for assessments. They’re incredibly knowledgeable in their fields, making seminars both informative and engaging. My dissertation supervisor has been particularly helpful, and I’ve really benefited from her expertise and guidance. I also took the optional Academic English for Postgraduates module, which was a huge help with my submissions.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

While the course didn’t require specialist facilities on-site, we made full use of London’s incredible museums, which became our classrooms. Being able to study and research in such a rich cultural environment was a real highlight.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

Go for it! I’ve loved my time here, met people from all walks of life and from all over the world, and had an incredibly enriching experience.
