Business Management (Entrepreneurship) BA

What I love about my Entrepreneurship pathway was the mix of theory and practice throughout the three years.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose to study at the University of Westminster because of the diversity of students and the support that was available to me as an international student before I applied. What caught my attention was Westminster was one of the only universities in London offering a Business Management course with an Entrepreneurship pathway, which was just what I was looking for. In addition to this, the location was convenient, not just for the business school but for the other campuses in the heart of London, which enhanced my experience as a student.

How has your experience been studying in London?

My experience has been wonderful from the day I arrived at Westminster. Being an international student here has been a learning curve in my personal and professional life. I’d describe my experience as smooth yet challenging, as I was able to get out of my comfort zone and grow as an individual. Studying in London goes beyond sitting in class, reading books and writing essays - it’s a unique experience and so far has been the best part of my life.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

What I love about my Entrepreneurship pathway was the mix of theory and practice throughout the three years. I believe the modules overall were just perfect and allowed me to learn and apply knowledge practically. I have particularly enjoyed developing my practical skills, for example, the development of my business proposition.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The support from academics has been significant during my course. I have found that their way to connect, from the majority of the lecturers, was smooth, friendly and professional. From a students’ perspective, I felt they listened to us, tried their best to support us even outside their working hours, and were always present and focused on each of us.

Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service

My experience with the Careers and Employability Service has been great and very helpful in developing my self-awareness, and improving myself as a person and a professional. I have attended different careers seminars and workshops offered by the university, and found each of these sessions to be valuable. This included undertaking careers assessments, mock interviews and support for applying to do a placement year or internship etc.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course

I have been president of the Catholic society from 2019-2022, as well as participating in the ‘Looking after your mate’ and the Green dot training. I also received an Excellence Award in my first year, in addition to a year long placement working as a business operations intern for a pharmaceutical startup from 2020-2021. The Westminster enterprise journey for entrepreneurs like me is very useful, so I will complete it before I finish my degree.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

My best advice is that if you are looking to improve in every aspect of your life and willing to be open minded and learn, apply to the University of Westminster because the student experience will go beyond just a degree.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The best aspect of being a Westminster student is having the huge amount of resources and opportunities available to develop yourself and on your career, offered by the university.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

The opportunities available for students, that will make you open doors. I never imagined that will lead me to where I am.
