What I like about the University of Westminster is its commitment to nurturing students to become future leaders and skilled professionals. The university has a supportive learning environment, dedicated staff, career support services and resources, like a separate postgraduate room for master's students and a chance to find jobs inside and outside of the university. What stands out to me the most is the inclusivity, particularly for international students like me. I have made friends from different parts of the world who understand each other and share a common goal, which is to become excellent professionals despite cultural differences.
My time at the university has prepared me to become competent in the knowledge and practical skills that I need in the industry. The coursework, extracurricular activities and opportunities like guest lectures and presentations have helped me gain a strong foundation for my future career. This gave me the confidence I needed as someone who aspires to work and start a career in an international environment. The social side of studying at Westminster is engaging and culturally rich, with numerous events, networking, workshops and student clubs to choose from. Participating in these areas helped me to make friends and cope.
What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?
My advice to other students coming to study in the UK would be to take every opportunity that is being presented to you because you will never know when the next one will be, both academically and socially. The educational system in the UK is different from what you used to know. It might feel overwhelming at first, but do not hesitate to ask for help – the university offers great support systems. Also, studying here is not just all about academics; it is about growing personally and professionally, which is why I enjoy and make time to explore or experience the local culture in the UK.
