Fashion BA Honours- 1993

The experience I gained (at Westminster) surpassed all my expectations and prepared me fully to start my career as a professional designer in the fashion industry. The course was both creative and technical in its approach and, though the three years were demanding and hard work, the excitement and the results were totally worthwhile.

In May 2014, Fashion BA (Hons) graduate Christopher Bailey was appointed Chief Creative Officer and Chief Executive Officer of global British luxury brand Burberry. Christopher was responsible for creating and delivering the next chapter in Burberry’s global vision and business strategy.

Christopher is a long-standing supporter and mentor of emerging British creative talent from institutions around the UK, including the University of Westminster, and he appreciatively acknowledges the platform the University provided him with:

Christopher’s notable awards include 2014 Designer of the Year; GQ Men of the Year Awards, 2013, 2008; and 2007 Menswear Designer of the Year British Fashion Awards. Christopher was honoured with an MBE in the Birthday 2009 Honours List for his services to the Fashion Industry, and in 2006 he received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Westminster.
