Business and Organisational Psychology MSc – 2025

One of the highlights of my course has been its collaborative nature!

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I chose the University of Westminster because the course structure aligned perfectly with my academic interests in organisational psychology and creating social impact. The curriculum struck a great balance between theory and practical application, which was important to me. The university’s emphasis on learning and real-world relevance made it the ideal environment for both my academic and personal development. I also felt that Westminster's diverse and inclusive community would support my growth—both as a student and as an individual passionate about making a difference.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

One of the highlights of my course has been its collaborative nature. Working on group projects has allowed me to delve into areas I care deeply about, such as gender diversity, equity, and inclusion. These projects have not only broadened my understanding of key issues but also strengthened my teamwork and communication skills.

Additionally, the course encourages a high level of critical thinking and self-reflection—skills that are essential. Being challenged to question assumptions and view problems from multiple perspectives has been incredibly enriching.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The academic support at Westminster has been outstanding. Lecturers are approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in our progress. They’re always willing to provide guidance, whether during office hours or through detailed, constructive feedback on assignments. There’s a clear culture of encouraging growth, and I’ve always felt that my academic success matters to the faculty.

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

Yes, one facility that stands out is the University of Westminster’s online LibGuide platform. It’s a comprehensive research tool that provides access to an extensive range of academic journals, articles, and databases across multiple disciplines. What makes it especially valuable is that it includes access to resources that would typically require expensive subscriptions—resources that are often unavailable to the general public. For anyone engaged in academic research, it’s an incredibly powerful and user-friendly tool.

Tell us about your experience of using the University Careers and Employability Service?

The Careers and Employability Service has played a key role in my professional development. They helped me refine my CV and offered insights into the job market from an employer’s perspective. I also took part in the internship module, through which I secured a meaningful internship during the summer break. Throughout the entire process—from preparation to completion—the Careers team offered constant guidance and support, ensuring I got the most out of the experience. Their workshops and one-to-one sessions have been incredibly helpful in building my confidence and career readiness.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course

Outside of my academic work, I’ve been actively involved in student life at Westminster. I’ve collaborated with peers from various cultural and academic backgrounds, which has enriched my experience and broadened my perspectives. As an international student, it was natural to miss home, but the university's Student Union played a big part in helping me feel connected.

Joining the Indian Society was especially meaningful. Participating in events like the Holi celebration brought a sense of familiarity and joy, making Westminster feel like a home away from home. These extracurricular activities have not only made me feel welcomed but have also helped me grow socially and emotionally.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

If you’re considering studying at the University of Westminster, come with a curious and open mind. This is a university that truly listens to its students. As a course representative, I’ve seen first-hand how student feedback leads to real improvements in the learning experience.

Get involved—attend events, webinars, and society meetups. Build your academic and professional network. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek support. There’s a wealth of opportunities here waiting to be explored, and the more you engage, the more you’ll grow.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

For me, the best part of being a Westminster student is the sense of connection—to knowledge, people, and purpose. Whether it’s participating in research workshops, networking with inspiring professors, or learning alongside students from around the world, there’s always something meaningful happening here.

I also love the little things that make everyday life better—like the free morning coffee and breakfast, which is such a thoughtful touch. It’s these big and small gestures combined that create a truly supportive and enriching university experience.
