About the event
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Westminster is proud to present our series of taster lectures for 2023.
These mini-lectures, designed and presented by senior academics in each subject field, provide a taster of what it’s like to study a subject area at university. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who want to explore their favourite subjects at a higher level and identify if they would like to pursue it at university.
In this session, Ludivine Broch and Pippa Catterall will explore the importance of the ways in which history is constructed and interrogated. It has long been acknowledged that who gets to tell the story of the past really matters. This leads to the amplification of some stories and the exclusion of others. Through case studies, they'll address how some of these obscured histories can be recaptured.
This event is free to attend and is open to all students currently studying a Level 3 qualification. Parents and carers are also welcome to attend.
