About us
Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Westminster is an interdisciplinary research group connecting colleagues and students across the university who work on any aspect of Latin American or Caribbean area studies. Members’ research interests include culture, literature and the arts, social justice, journalism and communication, criminology, sociology, and economics among others. We aim to meet throughout the year to foster connection and collaboration, as well as hosting research seminars, invited speakers, and a wide range of public-facing events. If you would like to get involved or join LACSAW, please contact the co-leads.

Doctoral research
LACSAW encourages potential PhD students to contact the co-leads to discuss supervision which can span Colleges and Schools. The PhD programme offers a rigorous and ambitious training pathway with links to communities and external organisations. Our doctoral students thrive in a supportive research environment, benefitting from tailored supervision and an interdisciplinary team suited to their project’s needs.
