Students, colleagues and friends all joined together for the World in Westminster Cafe's Christmas Celebrations. The gathering brought people together to share mince pies, listen to carols and generate a strong sense of belonging.

The event began with opening remarks from Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Bonfield, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Employability and Global Engagement Professor Dibyesh Anand. The evening embraced everyone, regardless of their faith or background, fostering an atmosphere of peace, unity and understanding.

The celebration was part of the University's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Programme and gave attendees the chance to make Christmas cards, eat mince pies and listen to a range of musical performances from Joel Marquis-Kumba, Music Production, Performance and Business BA Honours student and the Multilingual Choir.

Zahrah Surooprajally, Events and Student Empowerment Programmes Manager, said: "It has been a privilege to work with some of the most committed and talented colleagues – our World in Westminster Christmas is a true example of this. Thanks to all those involved. Particularly the Multilingual Choir who made their debut!”

This celebration directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3: Good Health and Wellbeing and 10: Reduced Inequalities. Since 2019, the University of Westminster has used the SDGs holistically to frame strategic decisions to help students and colleagues fulfil their potential and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthier society.
