The list recognises academics working on policy whose research is helping to make government more effective. Nominations were received from people working in local and national government, international and non-governmental organisations, as well as citizens of various countries seeking to recognise the efforts of academics who have been influential in their contexts.

Apolitical is a global platform for government that helps public servants find the ideas, experts and partners they need to solve the hardest challenges facing our societies. Its partners include the World Bank, the UK Cabinet Office and the World Economic Forum.
