The Centre for the Study of Democracy (CSD) is pleased to announce the launch for Professor Chantal Mouffe's new book,  Towards a Green Democratic Revolution: Left Populism and the Power of Affects, published by Verso.

Chantal is a Professor of Political Theory at CSD and is one of the world’s leading left thinkers on power and populism and is in huge international demand as a speaker. In Towards a Green Democratic Revolution: Left Populism and the Power of Affects, she proposes the creation of a broad coalition of movements under the banner of a Green Democratic Revolution to confront the impending ecological crisis.

  • 5–5.30pm: registration at the campus
  • 5.30–5.50pm: introduction and welcome by Head of School of Social Sciences Professor Dibyesh Anand and Politics and International Relations Research Director Professor Roland Dannreuther
  • 5.50–6pm: introduction to Professor Chantal Mouffe by Dr Nitasha Kaul
  • 6–6.20pm: Professor Chantal Mouffe speaks about her book
  • 6.20–6.30pm: response by Dr Paulina Tambakaki
  • 6.30–6.40pm: response by Dr Nitasha Kaul 
  • 6.40–7pm: Q&A with the audience
  • 7–7.30pm: drinks reception
