Welcome to course

Welcome to the Software Engineering with Electronics BEng course at the School of Computer Science and Engineering. This course is a Computer Systems Engineering course and will develop your practical and theoretical knowledge in the fields of computer systems, embedded systems, electronics, cyber security and software engineering.

Through the option modules you will also be able to develop more specialist skills in the areas of Integrated digital electronics, the Internet of Things (IoT), Android application development, Server-Side programming, machine learning and robotic systems.

We have arranged several events as part of your welcome week. These events will give you information about your course, familiarise you with the University, and help you gain the most from your life as a University of Westminster student.

You will start by undertaking a welcome week. It is advised that you attend all events to ensure that you receive all the required information prior to the start of teaching. You will also have opportunity to become familiar with the School environment, meet your course team, and also your fellow students.

We understand that starting a new degree programme can be both exciting and daunting. However, be assured you that you are not alone. We are here to guide you and provide you with the support you need to succeed.

All students are invited to an outdoor cinema event at the Harrow Campus. The college will be providing one free drink and a choice of snack for the first 300 attendees, as well as a paid bar during the screening.

Digital technology

You are advised that a standard windows laptop is the best form of computer to purchase for this course.

While you can borrow laptops through the University for 24 hours, it's better to have your own. If you're not sure what to buy, our technical support team can advise you one you've enrolled.
