Welcome to your course
The new academic year is approaching, and preparations are already underway for another successful year of our Interior Architecture MA course. As ever, we will be offering a wide-ranging and flexible programme of study with opportunities to pursue your individual research interests and gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience.
We will be making the most of our welcome meeting and briefings to make sure that you are introduced to all the facilities and services available to you as an Interior Architecture MA student. This includes the opportunities presented by our unique location in central London and the unrivalled resources of our Fabrication Lab. Whether you are new to Westminster or whether you have studied here before, there will be important introductions to all the different aspects of the course, so please make every effort to join us and attend on Thursday 19 September.
To get a taste of what is ahead, we recommend that you visit our OPEN 2025 exhibition. Available online this year’s OPEN hosts an amazing collection of work representing the diversity and imagination of our students. Later in September, we launch the MORE Exhibition of post-graduate works, including recent works from Interior Architecture MA.
We look forward to meeting you in September!
Welcome to the School of Architecture + Cities
During your time in the School the focus is on your work and creative outputs – and we are committed helping you achieve your potential. As well as the full-time teaching staff, leading practitioners teach on our courses, and employers mentor students. The School brings together a variety of disciplines to address future environmental and social challenges – urban and environmental design to architecture, architectural technology, interior architecture, planning, and tourism and events. Our Marylebone campus is perfectly placed for exploring London, and houses some of the most advanced teaching and fabrication spaces in the city.
During your welcome week, there will be a programme of activities arranged for you, so please attend all the events on your individual timetable – as well as the formality of enrolment, you will get to work with your course tutors and fellow students.
Best wishes
Kate Cheyne

This is an ideal opportunity to get to know London a little, in a self-guided way. suggestions:
- Gallery visits, such as: National Gallery; Tate Modern; Tate Britain; V&A; British Museum. The National Portrait Gallery has just re-opened after a major building project. These galleries are free of charge, though you may have to book a visiting slot online.
- Walks, such as: Trafalgar Square, the Strand and on through Fleet Street to St Paul’s; South Bank walk, from London Bridge (and Borough Market) taking in Tate Modern, Globe Theatre, National Theatre and Royal Festival Hall.
- You may even like to source a map of London from a previous time and attempt to follow a walk using that old map as a guide. See what has changed, and what remains the same. If you would like to do this, one suggestion is: the route around the former Roman wall encompassing what is now the City of London (Ludgate to the Tower of London, via the Barbican).
- Another suggestion is comparing and contrasting the adaptive re-use of two former power stations which now function as Tate Modern and the Battersea Power Station shopping destination.
