About me

I am a full-time PhD candidate in English Literature and hold a Humanities Studentship for my doctoral project. I graduated with an MLitt in The Gothic Imagination from the University of Stirling (Scotland) as well as a BA in both English Literature and Applied Psychology from Bishop’s University (Quebec, Canada). After completing my Master’s degree, I spent over three years as an independent researcher before starting my PhD. Additionally, I am a non-traditional, first-generation scholar who is a passionate advocate for accessibility in academia.

Originally from Quebec, Canada, I now live on the east coast of the Scottish Highlands.

Research

My doctoral thesis, currently titled "Climate Hauntology: Gothic encounters with the ecological crisis through epistemologies of haunted homes and feminine histories in speculative fiction (2021-present)", presents an ecofeminist exploration of the intersections between the Gothic and the ecological crisis in women’s speculative fiction. I argue that these narratives highlight a haunted/haunting encounter in the planetary home and reimagine relational ontologies between humans and more-than-humans through experiences of eco-grief.
