About me

Rachel Stamford is a current doctoral researcher at CAMRI, University of Westminster.

She has worked as a journalist in both the United States and United Kingdom with bylines featured in newspapers, magazines and radio broadcasts. Her main beats include social justice, demographics, government and travel. 

She graduated with a BA in Journalism (Print/Digital) from the University of Central Florida and received the UCF Nicholson School of Communication and Media Best Print/Digital Portfolio Award. She holds an MS in Media, Communications and International Journalism from the University of Glasgow.

Teaching

Rachel has taught several guest lectures at the University of Central Florida including News Reporting, Advanced Editing, and Principles of Journalism. Her lectures focus on newsgathering strategies and the importance of ethical standards when conducting interviews. She has also hosted news writing workshops at the University of Glasgow that explain the process of writing an article from pitching an idea to editing the final draft.

Research

Current research interests include accessibility in journalism and the relationship between media and democracy.
