Dr Yue Li

My expertise is in individual differences, developmental psychology, social psychology, positive psychology and health psychology. I have strong quantitative research skills and experience using statistical software packages including R, Jamovi and SPSS.

I am interested in topics including, but not limited to, the effects of personality traits on educational attainment, job performance and psychological well-being. I am also interested in exploring the effects of psychological manipulations on cognitive performance, as well as identifying effective psychological interventions to enhance students’ educational attainment. Other areas of interest include the role of motivation in children’s learning, and cultural and gender differences in children’s educational attainment and career interests. I also conduct research examining the psychometric properties (e.g., factor structure) of translated psychological scales.

My ongoing projects include investigating the relationships between the impostor phenomenon, personality traits, belongingness, mental well-being and academic performance among undergraduate students in the UK and STEM students in China. I am also examining the relationship between self-conscious emotions and eating behaviours among undergraduate students in the UK and China.
