About me

About Me:

Toral is an award winning Producer Director/ Camera woman.

She studied photography at Salisbury College of Art, then MA in Independent Film, at London College of Printing.  

 Toral started her working life as a photographer, then journalist and later embarked on a filmmaking career spanning almost 30 years. Her credits include primetime  BBC, C4, C5,  Al Jazeera, National Geographic, Sky and Discovery. Her career has taken her to many remote and challenging locations, including jungles, desserts, The Amazon, tribal lands and war zones.

 Toral served on the board of Directors UK for almost 5 years.

 

Teaching

Teaching: 

Prior to coming to Westminster in 2021, alongside her successful filmmaking career, Toral was a trainer with the BBC College of Production, a visiting lecturer at London Film School, and had been a visiting lecturer at Central Film School.

Research

Research

Toral takes a very practical approach to her research. Along side her teaching, she is continuing to make documentary films. Her 2023 Al Jazeera documentary 'The Labour Files' won Gold award (Documentary, Current Affairs), at the New York TV and film festival.

 

She is continuing her research on a number of projects that are currently in development.
