LLB (Hons)- 2009

The facilities are top of the class, the name rings a bell with people all the time and it is one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life.

What are you doing now?

I am a practising Solicitor and a Partner.

What did you find most valuable about your course at Westminster? How did the skills you learnt during your degree help you to shape your career?

I initially completed a Post-Graduate Diploma at the University of Westminster, this was in 1988. In 1989, I completed an MA Degree in Marketing and in 2006, I returned to the University to study for an LLB (Hons).

The most interesting thing about the University is the standard of teaching and support from the lecturers – you know you will always learn at the University of Westminster.

What was the best thing about being a student in London?

The facilities are top of the class, the name rings a bell with people all the time and it is one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life.

What extra-curricular activities did you participate in that enhanced your time at the University?

I was working during my studies at the University.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing a similar career?

It is hard work but rewarding. It is always good to have a degree prior to studying law, though not mandatory, it aids your learning.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

The interesting thing about law is that you are ‘educated’ but the practicality of your law degree is in the practice. Studying LPC will open your abilities, your PSC will ground it, the Courts will shape you and your clients will put you through your paces. But above everything, you will enjoy being a Lawyer and a respectable member of the Society.
