WISER: Westminster Initiative for Scientific Engagement and Research

The WISER team is a collaborative, cross-disciplinary community united by a passion for science communication, public engagement, and researcher development. We design and deliver innovative programmes that empower students, doctoral researchers, early career academics, and established scholars to communicate their research with confidence, creativity, and impact beyond the boundaries of academia.

As advocates of "science for all", we bring together expertise representing a rich blend of academic and professional services experience. Our team includes Early Career Researchers, Lecturers, Knowledge Exchange Managers, and Professors who share a commitment to making research more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for diverse audiences.

Together, we inspire, support, and empower researchers to engage with communities, spark curiosity, and foster dialogue around the research that shapes our world. We believe that research achieves its greatest impact when it is shared, understood, and connected to the needs and experiences of society.

By embedding public engagement throughout the researcher journey, we create transformational opportunities that extend beyond traditional academic training. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and collaborative learning, we enable researchers to develop the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to connect with wider audiences, amplify the reach of their work, and become passionate ambassadors for science and research.
