Westminster launches 2026 Degree Shows celebrating the next generation of creatives

The University of Westminster has launched its 2026 Degree Shows, an annual celebration of talent, imagination and innovation across the School of Arts, School of Architecture + Cities and School of Media and Communication

Running from April to September across University venues in London, the shows present the bold and diverse work of graduating students. This year’s programme includes exhibitions, screenings, performances and installations spanning disciplines from Photography and Animation to Music Production and Architecture, offering the public a unique opportunity to engage with the creative voices shaping tomorrow’s cultural landscape.

A curated selection of student work, including highlights from the Degree Shows and standout projects from the School of Arts across the academic year, will also be featured on the new Westminster Talent website.

The series began on 24 April at the University’s Harrow Campus with an exhibition by Digital Media students. The showcase featured speculative projects imagining the world in 100 years’ time, inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This was followed by the Foundation in Art and Design show which launched on 30 April. To bring the Memoria exhibition to life students explored the essentials of creative practice and took what they had learned during the foundation course to create a wide range of media including films, paintings, sculpture and textiles.

The Fine Art Mixed Media BA Honours Degree Show will be next up, opening on 28 May at Ambika P3 and running until 1 June, with a private showing on 29 May from 6.30–8.30pm. Featuring work by 56 students, the exhibition spans painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, video, sound, performance, digital media and installation.

Also opening on 28 May is the Illustration BA Honours Graduate Show at London Gallery West and Project Space at the University’s Harrow Campus, running until 4 June. A second showcase will take place at the Oxo Gallery between 8–12 July between 11am- 6pm each day. Together, the exhibitions present a vibrant collection of work from emerging image-makers, reflecting diverse perspectives and demonstrating Illustration’s power to capture and interrogate contemporary stories.

On 4 June there will be a dynamic multimedia event celebrating the diverse talent emerging from Westminster’s Music Production, Performance and Business BA Honours course. The evening will take place in Fyvie Hall at the University’s Regent Street Campus and gives students the chance to perform in front of industry professionals and tastemakers in an intimate live setting. Taking place between 6–10pm, the event features live performances from artists including Juste Dar, Serena Mary, Enshar, Head Room, Maisy Grace, Sawyer, Interplay and MC Geezer the Deaf MC.

Between 6–9 June, Ambika P3 will host In Media Res, the Creative Media Arts BA Honours Degree Show, with a private view on 5 June. The exhibition brings together work across moving image, installation, interactive media and 2D practices, including video, animation and immersive AR/VR environments. Projects explore themes such as identity, perception and transformation, as well as questions of language, memory and the relationship between physical and digital space.

Running alongside this is the Photography BA Honours Degree Show. Opening from 6-9 June, the exhibition will showcase work ranging from portraiture and still life to documentary and fashion photography, highlighting a wide range of creative and experimental approaches.

Students from the University’s Fashion Marketing and Promotion BA Honours and Fashion Design BA Honours courses are also set to host events to reveal their portfolio to industry professionals. The Fashion Marketing and Promotion BA Honours graduates will exhibit their work in the Sky Room in Zone29, the University’s new home for careers enterprise, between 11-12 June, while the Fashion Design BA Honours students will host a runway show in Ambika P3 on 12 June. Each event will celebrate the innovative work of emerging fashion talents poised to influence the future of the industry and showcase strategic campaigns, digital storytelling and brand innovation projects.

Fashion Design BA Honours Degree Show 2025

The Graphic Design BA Honours Degree Show titled Ctrl+Design will run between 6–21 June at London Gallery West and Project Space. Entirely conceived and produced by the students, the showcase includes a full visual identity and promotional campaign designed in-house, demonstrating both creative and professional skills.

The summer programme continues with OPEN 2026, a major exhibition of undergraduate work from the School of Architecture + Cities. Opening with a private view on 11 June, the exhibition will run from 12–30 June as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2026. The show will display ambitious and experimental projects that address both local and global challenges, reflecting the School’s collaborative and interdisciplinary approach.

Westminster students will then be going international with a trip to Milan for the Menswear MA Degree Show, which will run as part of Milan Menswear Fashion Week between 19-21 June, with a private view event taking place on 19 June.

Postgraduate students will present their work in a joint exhibition between 26 June–2 July at Ambika P3. Featuring Expanded Photography MA, Art and Emerging Technologies MA and Global Contemporary Art MA students, the show is set to bring together research-led projects that explore timely themes through a range of cutting-edge approaches, from painting and sculpture to AI-generated moving image and immersive installations.

The Degree Show season will conclude in September with MORE 2026, the annual postgraduate exhibition from the School of Architecture + Cities, celebrating the work developed by students over the course of the year.

Catherine Dormor, Head of the College of Creative Arts and Technologies, said: “Show season is a highlight of the year when our students showcase their final projects and launch themselves to their industries and beyond. We host a range of events across this season to support networking with industry partners and organisations alongside partners who have worked with our teams in designing briefs and live projects through their courses.

“Primarily, however, this is a moment of great celebration of all that our students have achieved over the past three or four years.  Each piece of work or collection marks huge transformation and enormous work to bring to this point and I cannot wait to share with the public all that our students bring to their industries.”

The Degree Shows contribute directly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by providing graduates with opportunities to present their work to industry professionals and gain valuable experience to support their careers. Since 2019, the University of Westminster has embedded the SDGs into its strategic approach, supporting students and colleagues to contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthy society.
