Westminster Fashion Design students visit Inditex HQ after winning final-year brand collaboration project

Four Fashion Design BA Honours students from the University of Westminster have visited Inditex’s headquarters in A Coruña, Spain, and Massimo Dutti’s offices in Barcelona, after being selected as winners of their final-year project titled Brands and Brand Collaboration.

Inditex trip

The project began with a briefing from Daniel Fernandez from the Inditex’s Talent Team, who introduced students to its portfolio of brands, including Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Bershka, Stradivarius and Pull & Bear. Students then selected one of the brands to design for, carrying out in-depth research and developing a portfolio of fashion design work in response to the brief.

For the second part of the project, students developed a fantasy brand collaboration between their chosen brand and another, and focused on broader fashion-related products, such as homeware, luggage, accessories and children's wear.

Industry experts from Inditex then decided on four winners who won the chance to visit their headquarters in A Coruña and the Massimo Dutti offices in Barcelona to spend time with the teams at their chosen brands. During each visit, they gained insight into design processes, brand identity and product development. The winners were Aimee Fender, Tom Fee, Florence Kelk Whall and Irem Cavus.

The connection with Inditex continues to grow, with Westminster graduate Grace Tayo securing a job with them after her studies. Since starting, she has had many highlights, including designing the outfit worn by Bad Bunny at the 2026 Super Bowl half-time performance.

Florence, one of the winners, said: “I recently had the opportunity to visit the Spanish headquarters of Pull & Bear, which gave me a really valuable behind-the-scenes insight into how the brand brings its identity to life. What stood out most was the team’s strong focus on the customer and their close alignment with current trends at every stage of the process. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive of my position as a student, making sure my learning was always a priority throughout the day. I’m really grateful for such a valuable experience, where I was able to see and be part of key aspects of the brand’s creative and strategic development and gain a deeper understanding of the culture behind Pull & Bear.”

The trip directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4: Quality Education, 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Since 2019, the University of Westminster has used the SDGs holistically to frame strategic decisions to help students and colleagues fulfil their potential and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthier society.
