This June Westminster Enterprise Network (WeNetwork), the University of Westminster's entrepreneurial network, hosted the final Start-Up 101 x Freelance Essential Pitcher Mixer event and gave away a total of £4500 in prize funding to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Westminster WeNetwork student freelance entrepreneur mixer event

This Start-Up 101 x Freelance Essential Pitcher Mixer event brought together students and graduates after an academic year developing business ideas. Participating cohorts were from Start-Up 101 and Freelance Essentials, two programmes that help students develop their skills, grow their network, build confidence, and launch or test a project, side hustle, or business idea they are passionate about. This event was a great opportunity for aspiring freelancers and founders to connect with each other, share their experiences, learn from one another, and pitch their ideas.

Margareta Digore, student on the Marketing BA Honours course and freelance social media marketer, said: “Through WeNetwork, I've gained valuable insights, expanded my professional network, and discovered exciting opportunities. I am truly grateful for the continuous support and growth that WeNetwork has brought to my freelance career.”

Margareta participated in a range of WeNetwork programmes throughout the academic year and was awarded £500 for her efforts and commitment to the Freelance Essentials programme.

Alex Jones from WeNetwork said: “The University is proud to support these talented students and graduates and looks forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
