This was an opportunity for students to meet key players in the industry, including from the BBC, ITV and a wide range of independent television and production companies. CV writing workshops with talent scouts were available and the students had the opportunity to talk about their career prospects and roles in the TV industry.

Panels included a behind-the-scenes look at Netflix's hit show Squid Game: The Challenge, with executive producers, commissioners and production design; a session on how to get your foot in the door; a discussion on the future of tech roles in the production industry; and a talk by Peter Leonard from the National Film and Television School, who spoke on the world of filming science and natural history programmes.

This visit was arranged by the Screen team at the School of Media and Communications. Assistant Head of School Dr Doug Specht attended the trip alongside Natalie Walter, Reshel Shah, and Dr Laura Stephenson. He said: "This was a great opportunity for students from across the School of Media and Communication to come together and meet some of the leading organisations in Television and Film. There was a real buzz at the event, and it was great to see our students confidently presenting themselves to the likes of the BBC and other production companies. Well done to the Screen team for organising this visit!”

Shounok Ghosh, a student on the Business of Film MA course, said: “The RTS career fair was an enlightening experience and a pivotal initiative for students like myself. It was a brilliant exposure to the industry, offering valuable opportunities to network, engage with industry experts, converse with talent managers representing diverse production houses, and participate in insightful conferences. The CV clinic was particularly beneficial, providing personalized guidance that deepened my understanding of crafting an impactful resume tailored to the industry's standards. The event was a phenomenal learning experience, seamlessly aligning with my course. It not only broadened my perspective but also equipped me with practical insights that will undoubtedly shape my journey in the dynamic world of media and entertainment in the UK.”
