The Ivors Academy Trust is a registered charity that fundraises to support, educate and nurture songwriters and composers to ensure that they can continue making music for the wider world to enjoy. It is led by experts in the music industry and beyond, all of which are committed to helping the industry to grow and develop the creative music community.

The Ivors Academy Trust is part of the wider Ivors Academy of Music Creators, which is an independent trade body that represents songwriters and composers in the UK. As an academic, author and music business consultant, Sally-Anne Gross’ appointment as a Trustee for The Ivors Academy Trust will allow her to utilise her expertise to support the growing industry.

As well as her appointment as a Trustee, Gross was recently invited to speak at NYU’s Clive David Institute of Recorded music alongside Dr George Musgrave, Senior Lecturer on the Music Business Management MA course. During this discussion, they presented their recent research about music and mental illness, as well as how COVID-19 has had a major affect on understanding the importance of mental health in the industry.

Talking about her appointment, Sally-Anne Gross said: “It is an honour to be working on behalf of our incredible songwriting community, and it is also great to be part of the Ivors Academy Trust, knowing how committed they are to being the change. There is an urgent need to support the music community right now, and I am excited to be working towards a brighter future for everyone.”
