Ever wondered about the history of Black people in London? One starting point is a visit to the National Portrait Gallery next to Trafalgar Square. This visit will cover 500 years of the history of Black people in London, including John Blanke, one of Henry VIII's trumpeters; the Black Queen of England; Trevor McDonald; and Claudia Jones - to name just a few.
We will meet in the foyer of our Regent Campus (a short walk from Oxford Circus tube station) and catch a bus down to Trafalgar Square.
This tour will include a visit to the National Portrait Gallery. If you have any specific queries about accessibility, please contact the National Portrait Gallery.
We will return by bus for tea, coffee and cake at Regent campus.
Please note, we cannot cover the cost of the bus, but the refreshments afterwards will be complimentary.
