Your new Mid-Module Check-In

In response to student feedback, we’ve refreshed how we collect and respond to your module feedback with a new check-in process starting this academic year.

The new Mid-Module Check-In (MMC) provides an opportunity for Westminster undergraduate and taught postgraduate students to share feedback on your modules in a simple and confidential way. The results help courses to better understand students’ needs and expectations, while informing future module developments and enhancements.

This new process is part of our broader commitment to putting the student voice at the heart of the learning experience. It is designed to gather your thoughts early on during the semester so you can receive advice from your lecturers in a timely way and for adjustments to be made addressing your feedback on the module.

From this academic year, mid module check-ins are being introduced and will take place in semester 1 and 2, using a short qualitative digital survey for you to take part in.

The updated questions have been designed to help you reflect on what is working well and where you might need more clarity.

For most modules, check-ins will take place in week five of semester 1 and 2, giving you the opportunity to share your feedback at an early stage in the semester so that your lecturers can respond and provide support in a timely way.

You will receive an email invitation as well as notifications on Blackboard to complete the survey online. The questions should take approximately five minutes to answer, depending on how detailed a response you wish to provide.

Guidance on how to complete the survey can be accessed on our Mid-Module Check-In webpage and you can watch this video for more information. These will help you familiarise yourself with the updated evaluation ahead of its launch.

Course Reps and Friends of Newly Arriving Students (FANS) will also be trained to be able to answer any queries you may have about the process.

If you have any questions related to the updated evaluation, please email [email protected]
