University Challenge - apply to join our team

University Challenge is a UK TV quiz show where teams of university students compete, answering questions on a wide range of subjects - from literature to music to sport. 

We recommend that you see if you are interested by attempting the University Challenge quiz and reading about previous contestants' experiences.

You can apply here to be on the team. Applications close on Sunday 19 November 2023, at 11pm (UK Time).  

Check before applying

Please check you are available for the following dates and are eligible to take part in the University Challenge.

• 8 January 2024 to 2 February 2024- for Production Team filming
• 27 February 2023 to 1 March 2024 (inclusive) - for filming
• 25 March 2023 to 27 March 2024 (inclusive) - for filming
• 23 April 2023 to 25 April 2024 (inclusive) - for filming

After applying

1) We will send you an online quiz to complete. These will be sent to you on Monday 20 November and will need to be completed by 11pm on Wednesday 23 November. 

2) You will be invited to join an online 'mini university challenge' for participants to take part in! Those involved can 'buzz in' their answers. The mini-university challenges will be held in small groups and will be relaxed and fun. The dates for these will be between 27-29 November. 

The UWSU will let you know if you have been successful by Thursday 30 November.
