Support for Postgraduate students through the Westminster Employability Award

The WEA allows you to gain recognition for your extra-curricular activities, while you follow a guided journey to enhance your employability skills and improve your graduate prospects. Becoming a member allows you to access key employability schemes, activities, events and resources from across the university, all in one place – complementing your postgraduate degree.  

What is the Postgraduate Gold?

Postgraduate students at the UoW can access a dedicated WEA level, the Postgraduate Gold Award. This includes a bespoke set of activities, designed to help you build your profile alongside your academic studies, through quick and simple steps.  

You can pick and choose from a list of 60+ activities, allowing you to create your own tailored journey to success. Recognition is also given for activities you may have already done, such as having a part-time job, attending relevant events, working on applications and more.  

Students who complete the Postgraduate Gold can also access the WEA Platinum level, the highest level of the WEA if they wish.  

How do I take part?

Joining the WEA is quick and easy. Register by following this link to the Postgraduate Gold pathway on Engage, for instant access to our activities.  

Every time you complete an activity, you’ll gain points, and you can track your progress as you go. Remember, you don’t need to complete all the activities - simply pick and choose those relevant to you. You’ll need 300 points to complete the Postgraduate Gold Award.

What are the benefits?

• Gain recognition. If you complete the level, you’ll get a digital badge for LinkedIn, an e-certificate, the WEA added to your HEAR at graduation, and more.

• Celebrate your success. Complete the Postgraduate Gold and you’ll get an invite to the UoW Employability Awards Celebration 2024.
