Six final year students have won Amazon gift cards in a prize draw for taking part in the National Student Survey (NSS).

Westminster Students sat around table talking

By sharing their thoughts and experiences of the University through the NSS, the students will help to improve the experience at Westminster for both existing students and those who will join us in the future.

The students collected £360 between them, with two students winning a £100 Amazon gift card each; two students winning a £50 Amazon gift card each; and two students winning £30 Amazon gift cards each.

One of the winning students Divya Sharma, a final year student from the Fashion Merchandising Management BA Honours, said: “I was very thrilled to have won the amazon voucher for participating in the National Student Survey. I believe that it is important for every student to express their opinions in order to make change. Especially in today’s landscape, it is imperative that we all use our voices.”

The annual National Student Survey (NSS) is a census of all UK students in the final year of an undergraduate course, offering a chance to provide feedback on the student experience at Westminster.

By taking part, students have the opportunity to tell us about their course and share their experiences of their time at Westminster.

This year, the University of Westminster’s commitment to providing exceptional education has been recognised by an enhanced overall student experience score in the NSS 2020, with a number of courses enjoying over 10 percentage point increase in satisfaction levels in the ‘Teaching on my course’ category compared to last year.

Westminster students have scored the University higher on the areas of Overall Satisfaction, Assessment and Feedback, Teaching, Student Voice and Academic Support when compared to last year's survey, whereas the sector at large saw decreased NSS scores in these categories this year.

Dr Sal Jarvis, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education, said: “I am so pleased to see that students have recognised the really positive developments in their education, as well as the hard work of their lecturers to achieve this. The University of Westminster’s vision is to offer an exceptional education to every one of our students. These results are a really positive step along our journey to achieve that.”
