Reflecting on your Semester One Mid-Module Check-Ins

Mid-Module Check-ins, formerly known as Student Module Evaluation Surveys, were refreshed and launched in October to collect your feedback on your modules.

The new Mid-Module Check-In (MMC) provides an opportunity for Westminster undergraduate and taught postgraduate students to share feedback on modules in a simple and confidential way. It is designed to gather your thoughts early on during the semester so you can receive advice from your lecturers in a timely way and for adjustments to be made addressing your feedback on the module.

On Monday 20 October, for modules where teaching had started, students were invited to complete the first round of check-ins to provide feedback and suggestions.

If your module received five responses or more, you should by now have been sent a report in a PDF format containing answers from your module leader on the feedback and comments raised on your course as part of the check-ins.

We encourage you to read the PDF report to explore all the feedback and answers provided as they will be useful to discuss in class with your module leader and fellow students to help make adjustments for semester two.

What should you expect next semester?

In Semester Two, the second round of check-ins will launch on Monday 16 February for most modules, except for Level 6 students who will be invited to provide feedback on their wider university experience through the National Student Survey.

Students taking part in the Semester Two MMC will receive an email invitation to complete the survey online. The questions should take approximately five minutes to answer, depending on how detailed a response you wish to provide. Please note that, from Semester Two, module leaders may select additional questions, so you may find there is variation between modules.

Guidance on how to complete the survey can be accessed on our Mid-Module Check-In webpage which includes all the key information including an overview video of the MMC. You should also check our ‘Giving constructive feedback in student surveys page’ to help us understand how we can better shape your learning experience.
