Mid-Module Check-ins, formerly known as Student Module Evaluation Surveys, were refreshed and launched in October to collect your feedback on your modules.

Over the course of the academic year, thousands of Westminster students shared feedback on their modules, helping colleagues better understand what is working well, where students are having a positive experience, and where improvements or additional support may be needed while teaching is still taking place.
The Mid-Module Check-Ins (MMC) were introduced in October to create a more timely and meaningful approach to student feedback. Unlike traditional end-of-module surveys, the MMC give students the opportunity to share their views during the module itself, allowing Module Leaders and teaching teams to reflect on feedback and, where possible, make changes or provide additional clarity and support before the module ends.
Your feedback genuinely matters. Whether highlighting positive experiences, identifying areas for improvement, or raising questions and concerns, student feedback plays an important role in shaping learning, teaching, and the wider student experience across the University.
One of the most important parts of the MMC process is “closing the feedback loop”. This means making sure students can see how feedback has been considered and responded to by Module Leaders. Many colleagues across the University have now reviewed MMC responses and prepared updates, explanations, or actions in response to the themes raised by students.
If you completed the MMC this year, we would strongly encourage you to take the time to read your Module Leaders' responses. These responses help provide visibility of the actions being taken, explain where changes can or cannot be made, and continue the conversation between students and teaching teams.
This year’s MMC have also helped the University continue building a stronger culture of student voice and partnership. Feedback from students not only supports improvements within individual modules, but also helps identify wider themes and opportunities that can inform future developments across the institution.
A huge thank you to all students who took part in this year’s Mid-Module Check-Ins.
