The University of Westminster wishes a very happy Diwali to all students, alumni, colleagues and friends celebrating.

Diwali, also known as Deepawali, is the festival of lights and is celebrated by many Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains. It is a five-day celebration & festivities starting on Saturday 18 October to Wednesday 22 October 2025.
The festival symbolises the human urge to move toward the light, with the word Diwali coming from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, meaning ‘rows of lighted lamps’. It is an auspicious time for spiritual renewal, harmonising energy, and cultivating positivity. The festival also traditionally includes lighting lamps, cleaning homes, and performing pujas, which can symbolically and energetically clear stagnant energy.
