Gain valuable insight into a career in teaching through a 15-day placement in a primary or secondary school. Placements are voluntary and typically completed on a part-time basis.
Applications for the Explore Teaching Scheme, with placements taking place between February to July 2027, are currently open until Sunday 18 October.
The Scheme is open to all current undergraduate and postgraduate students, including international students. It is also available to students enrolled on a work-based learning or placement module during the 2026/27 academic year.
Please note that an Enhanced DBS check will be arranged for all participants. Participants must provide the three forms of identification required to complete the DBS application.
Upon successful completion of the scheme, you will receive a reference letter and a Certificate of Achievement to support future teacher training or job applications. Placement hours may also count towards the Westminster Award or a work-based learning/placement module, where applicable.
