Westminster Conversations: Queering Academia returns for its fourth year!

The University of Westminster is proud to host the fourth edition of 'Westminster Conversations: Queering Academia', bringing together students, academics, practitioners, activists, and community organizations to explore the intersections of queerness, education, research, and social change.

Building on the success of previous years, the event will provide a space for meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities facing LGBTQ+ communities within higher education and beyond.

Hosted by the Vice-Chancellor's Office, the University's Q+ Network and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team, the conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, community voices, and networking opportunities.

Featured Session:

'Mind the Gap: What's Missing When It Comes to Supporting Queer Youth in Their Transition from Education into the Workplace?'

Presented by Steve Keith, founder and event director of the Queer Student Awards, and Eva Echo, transgender activist and educator. This session will explore the challenges LGBTQ+ young people face when moving from education into employment, with particular focus on the experiences of transgender people.
