About the event

The Specialist Mentors within Disability Learning Support (DLS) are hosting an online student workshop for Mental Health Awareness Week based on the theme of Loneliness.  The Mentors offer one-to-one support aimed at helping students registered with DLS overcome barriers to studying and achieving their full potential at university.

Being a student and studying is naturally sometimes an isolating and lonely experience.

The workshop will focus on:

  • How to identify and understand the feeling of loneliness
  • The different periods loneliness can be experienced throughout university and the impact this has on your wellbeing
  • Explore practical strategies to manage feelings of loneliness
  • How students can connect with others and manage time alone
  • Support available to you
