About the speaker
Nick Pollard
Nick Pollard has worked in journalism in the UK for more than fifty years and has held senior executive jobs in broadcast newsrooms for much of that time.
He began his career in local newspapers on Merseyside in 1968 and worked for BBC Radio and Television News after that. He was Executive Producer of News at Ten at ITN and was Head of Sky News for ten years. He has also been Chief Executive of British Forces Broadcasting and Chairman of Ofcom’s Content Board overseeing the regulator’s complaints process. For several years he was Chairman of the Royal Television Society’s Journalism Awards panels.
In recent years he has acted as a consultant for TV channels about editorial, compliance and regulatory issues.
