I am a Chartered Psychologist and a Senior Lecturer in Psychology. I completed my PhD on Reducing anxiety in patients undergoing medical proceduresin the Department of Psychology at University College London (UCL).

Research

My research interests include the following:

 - at individual level in health beliefs, health behaviours and habits (e.g. exercise including in green spaces, nutrition, sleep, meditation, smoking/vaping, social support, etc.) that influence well-being. In relation to nutrition, I’m interested in dieting and perceived benefits of specific diets (e.g. plant based, clean eating, ultra processed foods, etc.).

-  at organisational level I’m interested in patient safety and human factors in relation to performance (e.g., how do task and team factors/stress/pressures at work/emotional labour, etc. contribute to performance and errors). Also, the impact of leadership style and organisational culture on motivation and performance.

-  at societal level I’m interested in the relationships between the built environment, pollution and health; and health inequalities – such as access to healthcare services and provisions by marginalised and minoritised groups.
