About me

Luisa Rivera is a London-based illustrator originally from Chile. In 2012 she obtained a Fulbright scholarship to pursue her MFA in Illustration at Minneapolis College of Art and Design (USA).

She has worked with clients such as Air Canada, Google, Penguin Random House, The New York Times, Rebel Girls, Variety Magazine, Lush Cosmetics, O The Oprah Magazine, Carpe Diem magazine, Yale Environment 360, Reservoir Books, Modern Farmer, Women Who Farm, Brigitte MOM, Oxford American, among others. Luisa has published several picture books, including the Spanish edition of One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera, both novels by Gabriel García Márquez.

Both in her artistic and commercial work, Luisa draws on folk culture, history, and storytelling, to create narratives. The female figure is at the heart of her paintings, embracing the natural world and the spiritual imagery inherent in it.
