About me
Naveeda is a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Co-Course Leader for BSc Financial Economics. She joined the Westminster Business School in September 2011. Previously, she has taught as an Instructor and Dissertation Advisor for the online postgraduate programmes of University of Liverpool, and various institutes in London.
Naveeda graduated from IIUI, Pakistan with first class degree, and was awarded the gold medal, with MSc. in Economics. She then, completed her post graduation and PhD from Mie University, Japan. She was awarded academic scholarship from MEXT (Ministry for Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), Government of Japan. She has worked as a Researcher, Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Mie University, Japan. She also worked as an Assistant Professor at IIUI in Pakistan.
Teaching
Naveeda is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has a wide range of experience in teaching at different levels of education including UG and PG studies. Her main teaching interests are in Energy Economics, Energy Policy, and Sustainable Development. She has previously taught at the University of Liverpool (online post-graduate programmes), and various international institutions, a range of modules including Economics for Management, Economics of Oil, Gas and Energy, Management of Energy, Managing Energy Sources, Macroeconomic Theory, Econometrics, Managerial Economics, Monetary Theory, Business Research and Data Interpretation and Quantitative Methods for Business.
Currently, she is teaching and leading core modules at PG level and UG level including Sustainable Energy Policy, Sustainability Analytics and Reporting, Global Economic Issues, Microeconomics and Labor Markets. She is also a co-lead on the project of Peer-Mentoring programme. She also supervises MSc dissertations across a range of courses including MSc in Economic Policy and Analysis, and International Development Management. Research
Naveeda’s research interests include energy policy, energy poverty, circular economy, sustainable development and sustainability. She is an Associate with the Institute of Healthy Urban Living (IHUL), University of Westminster. She was a Scientific Committee member for Applied Business Conference, organised by the University of Guelph-Humber, Canada, and Academic Conference organised by Universiti Teknology Brunei (UTB), Brunei Darussalam. She is also a Reviewer for Journal of Independent Study and Research Management, Social Sciences and Economics (JISR-MSSE) and External Examiner (for PhD. Dissertations) for Superior University, Pakistan. She is a staff member of research groups of Global Economic Policy Group and Climate Change, Energy Policy and Sustainability.
