About me
Dr Prem Puwanenthiren joined Westminster University in 2019. He earned his PhD in Accounting from La Trobe University, Australia, in 2016, specialising in audit quality and financing decisions. During his doctoral studies, he received several prestigious scholarships, including LTUPRS, LTUFFRS, APA, and IPRS, and is a member of CPA Australia.
Teaching
A Senior Lecturer and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Prem’s teaching excellence has been recognised on several occasions by his previous employers, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Award (2016). His teaching interests include audit practice and ethics, advanced financial accounting, and accounting information systems.
Research
Prem’s research interests include AI, climate change, Cybersecurity risk, ESG, corporate culture, corporate governance, corporate financial reporting and disclosure, earnings management, financial reporting quality, and capital markets. He has published a number of papers in international refereed journals, including the British Journal of Management, the Journal of Business Ethics, and the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting (JBFA).
