I am Reader in Transport Planning and joined the University of Westminster in September 2015, where I lead a research group focused on accessibility planning.
I was previously a Senior Research Fellow at Ghent University. Before this, I was a Research Fellow at the University of Amsterdam UvA, and a post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and a Research Fellow at the University of Naples Federico II.
I completed my PhD (urban and transport planning) at the University of Naples Federico II, where I focused on the intersection between transport and land-use planning and TOD.
Since September 2016 I'm the Programme Leader of the MSc Transport Planning and Management, University of Westminster. I lead several PG modules including Research Methods, Transport Economics; Land Use Planning and Transport.
I was previously leading PG and UG modules including Introduction to Planning Theory (Ghent University), Transport Geography (University of Naples Federico II), Spatial Analysis Methods and Techniques for Transport Planning (University of Naples Federico II), City and Mobility Planning (University of Naples Federico II)
I supervise around 8-10 MSc Dissertation yearly.
I currently supervise 4 PhD students.
My research lies at the intersection of a number of fields including urban system, transport and economic geography. Key research interests include geography of mobility, planning for sustainable accessibility, Transit-Oriented Development, transitions to low-carbon and low-energy living and societies, decision-making processes and new ways to integrate these research interests.
