About me

I am  Professor of Transport Planning, and my research is positioned at the intersection of urban planning, mobility, and economic geography. I have a PhD in City Planning and Networks have published widely in this area. I have taught, researched, and consulted on urban and regional planning for over 15 years, working in different international contexts in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy.

Teaching

I contribute to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes in urban and mobility planning at the University of Westminster, Ghent University, the University of Amsterdam, and the University of Naples. My teaching portfolio includes Land Use Planning and Transport, Research Methods/Dissertation, Urban Policy and Planning, Transport Economics, and Urban and Environmental Design Studio.

I have extensive experience supporting diverse cohorts in the UK and internationally, with a consistent focus on enabling students to develop ideas that speak to their own contexts and lived experiences.

I am a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA).

Research

My primary research focus centres on sustainable accessibility planning, specifically enhancing inclusive mobility and reducing urban carbon emissions. This work has gained national and international recognition and aligns with the UK's 2050 decarbonisation targets. Throughout my research journey, I have made significant contributions to accessibility and urban sustainability. With an extensive body of work, my research has profoundly impacted these domains at both the national and international levels. A comprehensive overview of my accomplishments reveals the impressive figures: 32 journal articles, 47 contributions to books and book chapters, and the honour of editing three special journal issues.
