About me

Dr Nowlan is a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society (BPS), a Certified Principle Business Practitioner Psychologist with the Association for Business Psychologists (APBP) and an accredited Academic Member (MCIPD) of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Jenni is a full member of the Occupational Psychology Division within the BPS, belongs to the Special Group in Coaching and is a member of the Psychotherapy Section. Jenni is also a Fellow (FHEA) of the Higher Education Academy

In addition, Jenni is also an accredited BPS Psychometric Test Administrator in both personality and ability (BPS), has an Advanced Certificate in Rational Emotive Cognitive-Behavioural methods in Coaching, Counselling and Psychotherapy (Albert Ellis Institute) and is a trained mindfulness teacher (Univerity of Bangor).

Teaching

Jenni's current role includes teaching on Managing and Leading for Business, Behaviour in Organisations, Module Leader for Work and Organisational Psychology, Module Leader for Applying the Tools of Positive Psychology. Past roles have included mega Module Leader (1,000 students) on Interpersonal Skills for Business, Course Leadership in Business International and Course Leader in Business Management. Jenni also Supervises Dissertations in MA HRM, MA Management and MA International Business Management. 

Research

Jenni's Doctoral research focused on the theme of developing mindfulness and compassion in Higher Education. Other research interests are in the areas of: wellbeing and resilience in the workplace, peer coaching and executive coaching, positive psychology and rational emotive behaviour therapy.
