Anita Lateano

Anita Lateano is a PhD student, within the School of Architecture and Cities at the University of Westminster. Using anthropological enquiry, her doctoral research explores multispecies relations in marine conservation practices in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Through my research she hopes to develop an interdisciplinary approach to conducting conservation research with humans and more-than-human, specifically looking at underwater counterparts. 

More broadly, her research interests include exploring environmental epistemologies, social and environmental justice, decolonisation, multispecies approaches, and interdisciplinary and arts-based methodologies. 

Alongside her PhD research project, Anita is a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, understanding and exploring decolonisation within the context of Birmingham Business School.
