About me

I am a pattern-cutting specialist with over 30 years of experience across the luxury, commercial and high-street sectors of the fashion industry. My professional background includes extensive work on runway and ready-to-wear collections for both London and Paris fashion markets, as well as senior pattern cutting roles within established fashion companies. I specialise in draping, shaping on the stand and advanced flat pattern cutting, blending technical precision with creative exploration.

Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of the entire design process, from concept through to production. This breadth of experience continues to shape my contribution to fashion education and fuels my commitment to supporting the next generation of designers.

Teaching

As a Pattern Cutting Lecturer on the BA Fashion course at the University of Westminster, I teach core and intermediate skills in draping, fabric manipulation and flat pattern cutting. My approach focuses on developing strong technical competency while encouraging creative problem-solving, experimentation and independent thinking.

I have taught at institutions including the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins, and I support students through structured teaching sessions, one-to-one project guidance and formative assessment. I also contribute to the wider student experience by coordinating timetables, overseeing pastoral support as Lead Personal Tutor, and organising induction activities, exhibitions, and student showcases. My teaching is informed by extensive industry practice, ensuring students gain both practical expertise and an understanding of contemporary professional standards.
