About me

I have built a comprehensive and strategic career in the fashion and retail sector, combining senior leadership experience with extensive consultancy work across buying, merchandising, and retail operations. My professional foundation was established at Warner Bros Studio Stores, where I progressed to Director of Trading and became part of the start-up leadership team responsible for opening and managing a multi-store retail operation across the UK and Germany. I led buying, merchandising, marketing, visual presentation, and store operations while driving significant growth, transforming supply chains, and managing diverse product categories. Following this, I developed a successful freelance consultancy practice, advising brands and retailers on range planning, pricing, merchandising functions, and strategic expansion. My clients included Cranfield Business School, Ny-lon Design, Krisp, Lynx Barber Shops, and other emerging businesses. Across all roles, I have consistently delivered commercially focused solutions, operational improvements, and strategic direction grounded in deep industry insight.

Teaching

My academic career is rooted in a commitment to high-quality education, student progression, and the advancement of fashion business as a discipline. At the University of Westminster, I am currently Assistant Head of the School of Arts (Fashion) and, oversee curriculum quality, academic standards, and the performance of multiple undergraduate and postgraduate fashion programmes.  I manage an amazing team of fashion professionals, and together we work to support students to maximise their opportunities and reach their full potential.

I have extensive experience as a senior lecturer, having delivered modules in entrepreneurship, merchandising, innovation, retailing, commercial skills, and professional development across BA and MA levels. I have also supervised major projects, tutor students, and contributed to professional development as an advisor and assessor for Fellowship and Senior Fellowship (SFHEA). My external examining roles and industry-led short course development further reinforce my commitment to impactful, practice-based learning.

Research

My research is grounded in the intersection of fashion business practice, retail innovation, and industry-engaged education. I focus on developing commercially informed curriculum models, exploring how entrepreneurship, merchandising, and creative innovation shape emerging talent in the fashion sector. Through supervising major projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and advising on Fellowship and Senior Fellowship pathways, I contribute to pedagogic research and professional learning. My work with industry partners supports practice-based research that connects academic theory with real-world commercial challenges and evolving retail ecosystems.
