About me

I joined the University of Westminster as a part-time lecturer in 2006. I previously led HND and Foundation Degree courses at Westminster Kingsway College alongside running a micro cake decorating business.  I was privileged to set up and lead the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy at Westminster Kingsway College from 2012 until 2019.  My work in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship made leading the BA Business Management (Entrepreneurship) a particularly interesting opportunity and I have been able to contribute to the growth of the course since 2018.

Teaching

My current focus is upon modules in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.  I lead the Level 4 Creating New Business, the Level 5 New Venture Creation and the Level 6 Creating Entrepreneurial Leadership modules.  I have recently taken responsibility for the MBA Entrepreneurial Mindset module and will be leading our Level 6 Innovative Consultancy Solutions module from January 2022.  I also contribute to teaching on the Level 4 Marketing Principles, the Level 5 Entrepreneurial Practice and the Level 6 Contemporary Issues (Dissertation) modules.

Research

I completed my Educational Doctorate at UCL's Institute of Education in 2020.  My thesis was about Enterprise Education and focused on staff perspectives on enterprise culture.  I am looking to develop the Analytical Expansionism model I developed into a training tool to help Enterprise Teams in their work.

I have recently worked with a colleague to write a report on the importance of entrepreneurship in the UK and its relevance post the pandemic.

I look forward to using what we learn from the Collaborative Conversations Project I am involved in to write a paper about how we improve pedagogy and cross-cultural understanding in HE.
