Research
Dr Alfadhel's research focuses on Intellectual Property Law and International Trade Law, alongside advancing teaching practices in legal education.
In education research, Dr Alfadhel develops innovative teaching methods through student-partnership projects and works on addressing attainment gaps to create anti-racist and inclusive curricula. She welcomes collaboration on intellectual property enforcement, the digital economy's legal challenges, student partnership, and equity in education.
Her PhD examined trademark enforcement in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, analysing legal frameworks for protecting intellectual property in evolving digital and trade contexts and identifying challenges faced by foreign brands.
Her current research explores the intersection of intellectual property and artificial intelligence, taking a comparative approach between the GCC and the EU, and also examines the role of AI in education. She is actively writing and working on several research papers in these areas.
