"I chose the University of Westminster because the detailed overview of my course was ideal for providing me with a development path both mprofessionally and personally.
Lecturers at the Westminster Business School use a wide array of interesting teaching methods, which have enhanced my learning skills, and contributed to a rewarding and challenging experience. The small classes are very comfortable for voicing out questions and opinions while encouraging debates. We also get one-on-one assistance and detailed feedback from our lecturers.
When I first came to the University, I had no idea of what to expect. Being an international student, I thought I would experience challenges fitting in with people of different cultures. However, with assistance from the university, I have come to understand many cultures and I have made friends with a lot of good people, both lecturers and students, from all over the world. Studying in London has been good, providing opportunities for internships with international companies."

"As an international student I was looking for a Masters program that would offer me an experience and education that I could utilise worldwide. The University of Westminster was a simple choice for me knowing the superior level of education, top quality professors and fabulous location offered. The culturally diverse group of classmates held various levels of professional experience which enriched my learning as we continued to develop and challenge each other.
Having completed the MA Human Resource Management specialising in Employee Relations I have acquired an education which lead me to a fulfilling career rather than a short-term job. As a Management Consultant in an Employment Services firm I work with local and international clients and have continued to develop my practical experience in employee relations, policy development, recruitment and performance management."

"I started the course whilst working as an HR Coordinator at Informa. I found that the course develops its students across three key areas: professionally, academically and personally.
Professionally, you are able to critically analyse various aspects of your daily work against up-to-date developments within HR; this helped me to progress to HR Manager. The course provided me with the tools to review and improve upon my own contribution to the company. The structure of the lectures allows you to integrate your professional experience and own organisation into case studies, and you can obtain the CIPD qualification, which for anyone aiming to develop within HR is a necessary stepping stone.
Academically, whilst the first year provides the grounding for HR and business, the second year allows you to delve deeper into specific electives, directly impacting on your knowledge and skills. If you are an HR generalist, the biggest challenge will be choosing the electives as they are all relevant! The lecturers are clearly experts within their field, but rather than just being academically proficient, the key benefit I found was their experience, either as business partners or consultants. This provided me with an invaluable link, bringing theoretical knowledge into the real world.
Personally, the course is centred quite strongly around peer discussion and learning through group work, enabling a wealth of collective knowledge and experience to be shared. Understanding how and why different companies act in a particular way was a huge help, and still reminds me to make sure I look at my work from different angles. The course allows you to socialise and build a reliable network of peers and encourages you to take ownership of your learning and development, with CPD strongly linked throughout. I would definitely recommend the course to any HR practitioner wanting to make a difference."
