Between the 26 February to 1 March 2024 the University of Westminster will welcome Westminster students, colleagues and members of the public to the World in Westminster Festival, a celebration of cultural diversity, dialogue and community engagement.

The festival will take place across all Westminster campuses and will feature a dynamic line up of events organised by colleagues and students, with many open to members of the public. Each day will focus on a different strand from the University’s Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy. These are culture, communication, expression, vision and belonging.

Events taking place throughout the week include a thought-provoking Race in Anime talk at Cavendish Campus, a seminar titled Is the University Still a White Space, at the Regents Campus, and the Westminster Business School Celebration at the Marylebone Campus, which aims to recognise the strength of multilingualism. There will also be an All Genre’s Event at the Harrow Campus, an entertaining and inspiring evening of music with influences from around the world, as well as the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries Celebration, which will offer people the chance to network at the University of Westminster.

The festival will wrap up on 1 March with HOMELandS Dialogue at Regents Campus, a student-led event from the Democratic Education Network and a CommUNITY Gala organised by the Student Union.

Speaking of the Festival, Professor Dibyesh Anand, Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Employability and Global Engagement) and a Co-Chair of University EDI Committee, said: “While celebrating our diversity as a global University, we are also pleased to welcome families and friends of our students, members of public, students and colleagues from universities across London and beyond. This is the first time we are opening-up most of the events of our Annual WIW Festival to all.”
